ZSL Launches WiFi Services in Chennai, India
ZSL Inc, a leading global software solutions and services provider, today announced the launch of 'Wi5' wireless broadband services in the city. The Wi5 services was inaugurated and accessed by Mr. Karuna Sagar, IPS, DIG, Armed force, Chennai. This WiFi service will enable customers to access high-speed wireless broadband connectivity through their laptops, desktops or mobile devices by subscribing to Wi5's service on the move.
With this launch, ZSL enters the ISP business in the country and has obtained a category A internet service provider license to operate in all of India's DoT circles. In the near future, similar WiFi services will be made available in cities such as Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kolkata enabling customers access these services at any of the Wi5 zones across these cities. Software solutions and services provider ZSL Inc on Sunday announced the launch of its wireless internet service "Wi5" in the city, making it the first wi-fied city' in India.
While cities like Bangalore, Mumbai and Pune have wi-fi hot-spots' or wi-fi connections at homes provided through routers fitted at houses, ZSL has adopted a mesh network architecture, which means that wi-fi internet broadband connection will be accessible seamlessly even as one is travelling on the roads of Chennai. ZSL Inc Launches Wi5 Broadband in Chennai
Information Technology solutions company ZSL announced the launch of its wireless broadband service Wi5 in Chennai on Sunday. The company plans to invest Rs 200 crore over the next two years to promote the new service across India.
It has created a separate division ZSL for the business. The company expects about 100,000 subscribers in the first year. The launch also spells the first step of diversification for the company, said
S Rajagopal, director of ZSL. The company has entered the internet service provider (ISP) business with a category A licence to operate in all the telecom circles. The service will be available in metros including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Kolkata in the near future, he added. It is presently available in select pockets of Chennai including Adyar, Besant Nagar and T Nagar. Read More
